The brand new Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County brought in a record number of visitors in 2011.

According to Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE, an estimated 265,000 people came to the site in 2011.

Flight 93 board members said Saturday that they expect attendance to climb to at least 350,000 in 2012.

The National Park Service is working on plans to handle the expected increase in crowds.
